This album was again written on tour in America, although this time in a different session. As Bowie had gained success due to The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, he wrote these on tour, but this time he creates a new persona, Alladin Sane, which he descries as Ziggy goes to America.
